Sounds like war: Kriegserklärung (declaration of war)

andcompany&Co.

How to end a war nobody began? More than hundred years ago, the First World War was still started with the old dramaturgy: a war begins with a declaration of war. Since then, sovereign states rarely are at war with each other, instead, an era of international civil wars began that lasts until today.
In their lecture concert, the artist collective andcompany&Co., with the help of words and electronic beats, tie the sounds of World War I to Dada, Brecht and Müller and to today’s wars, that aren’t declared, just fought. Alexander Karschnia, Sascha Sulimma and Vincent van der Valk are digging up the arsenals of the 20th and 21st century, they’re searching for utopias and pieces of memories that can be staged. They work on international phantasms, they search for connections between performance art and the art of war. Between linguistic games and sense-samples arises the sound of battle, that gives room to many voices, that leaves blanks for the things we cannot understand – as an alternative to the official concert of the European Great Powers. Where wars aren’t declared any more, soldiers are marching in without national emblem…
