Schauplatz International - M*A*S*C*O*T*S*

All over the world, mascots present events, organisations, of Football clubs with un-detained happiness.

Schauplatz International detach these smiley- and wavy-icons from their one-dimensional being, awake their revolutionary consciousness, and simultaneously liberate actors from their sweat-driving and humiliating costumes – a seriously different glimpse behind the scenes.

About Schauplatz International

Schauplatz was formed as a Swiss performance group in a village near Bielin 1999. The next year, they won the Impulse prize with "Everest 96 – the summit." In 2003, Schauplatz grew to become the German-Swiss Schauplatz International and since then has consisted of four core members: Anna Lisa Ellend, Martin Bieri, Albert Liebl and Lars Studer. Musician Matthias Wyder has worked regularly in the productions. Schauplatz International deals with current political and social events and was a guest at Zürcher Theaterspektakel, at the Hope & Glory Festival, at the Münchener Kammerspielen, at the Kaserne in Basel as well as the Berliner HAU and also produced films and audio books
