andcompany&Co - MAUSOLEUM BUFFO

Everyday life in the communist world taught many a horror. Quite obviously, Lenin’s grave is haunted. Ever-new ghosts appear: Stalin and Putin as well as John Lennon and Mickey Mouse.

andcompany&Co merge facts, half-knowledge, and nonsense and create an absurd dance macabre of communist ideology and its perversion. Their furious and hilarious play questions contemporary ideologies at the very same instant.

About andcompany&Co.

andcompany is an international performance group, which was formed by Alexander Karschnia, Nicola Nord and Sascha Sulimma in 2003. In collaboration with other artists, who commit to individual projects, they work at the interface between theatre and theory, politics and practice. Their work, which is mainly accompanied by experimental laboratories and performance lectures, mixes and condenses facts and fiction into a separate political statement in a humorous manner, while including fragments of aesthetic and philosophical concepts from the 20th century. “Mausoleum Buffo” is the last part of a trilogy, which started in 2006 with “little red (play): ‘herstory’” and parts of which were shown at the Kunstenfestivaldesarts Brussels, at the steirischen herbst in Graz and at the Vienna Festwochen, among others.
