All the burning issues of the festival will be discussed at the ULTRAS bar. Without choosing the topics in advance, the four ULTRAS will invite anyone who feels the need to speak to take part in a relaxed exchange of views at their bar — members of the audience, festival staff and artists. The ULTRAS bar provides a compered location for observations , experiences and questions that arise while attending Impulse 2020. For polyphonic perspectives on world events, theatre history and cultural policy, for questions of taste and emotion. Every time the bar is open, our charming ULTRAS bar staff will hand out different drinks and snacks — seasoned to suit the festival atmosphere.

The ULTRAS bar also marks the ULTRAS’ farewell to Impulse. After starting in 2018 in Mülheim an der Ruhr as a supplementary programme with a traditional Stammtisch, the ULTRAS used GPS tracking to fight their way through the urban jungle of Düsseldorf in 2019. After finishing their course in Scenic Research at the Ruhr University Bochum the ULTRAS will now scatter in all directions and apply themselves to new projects. Impulse would like to say thank you and raise a glass to them!
