New Artistic Director from 2018

After five years and four festivals under the artistic direction of Florian Malzacher, once the upcoming festival (22 June – 1 July) is completed, the curator and dramaturg Haiko Pfost will take over the Impulse Theater Festival for the years 2018 – 2020.

Haiko Pfost (born 1972) ran the international co-production house brut Vienna together Thomas Frank from 2007 to 2013, repositioning the venue under their aegis as a home for international co-productions. At the same time he also worked as program dramaturg for the International Schillertage in Mannheim and was a member of the programming jury for the festival Politik im Freien Theater in Dresden. After posts as an assistant and dramaturg at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and Festival Theaterformen in Braunschweig and Hanover, Haiko Pfost curated the opening event for Projekt Volkspalast, which made interim cultural use of the Palast der Republik, Berlin. From 2005 to 2006 he worked as a program and project dramaturg for the steirischer herbst festival, Graz. Since 2014 Haiko Pfost has been a freelance curator, dramaturg, lecturer and advisor to international producing venues and festivals including; LUST Finnland, Manifesta 11, Theaterspektakel Zürich, zeitraumexit Mannheim, Schauspiel Leipzig and PAP Berlin.
