New Website: Contributions on the independent theater scene and the thematic focus “Under the Influence”

14 November 2012

The new website of the Impulse Theater Biennial is online. These pages serve as a constantly growing collection of material already before the program is released in spring 2013.

Under the key word “Independent Theater” original contributions on the definition, state and demands of the German-speaking independent theater scene will be collected. Impulse Theater Biennial considers itself to be central in this scene – not only during the time the festival takes place, but as a constant medium of discourse and discussion.

“Under the Influence” deals with the thematic focus of Impulse in 2013: What does it mean to live in Germany, in the German-speaking world? What are the cultural and social contexts, what conditions of production are formed by artistic works and personal identities? What lies between the poles of regional bonds and global networking? What is alien, and what is familiar? What kinds of political representation and consequences are there, and what others might be possible? What utopian proposals lie beyond blood ties and territorial affiliations?
